The show revolves around the lead character Hank moody. Hank moody is a successful novelist but facing problems due to personal issues. According to him, the reason behind the problem is writer’s block which is haunting him from a long time. There are also various reasons involved for his writer’s block. One of the reasons is the separation from his girlfriend Karen.

On September 7th 2007, producers of the show renewed the show for the second season. The new timing was kept as 10 pm in night.
Californication is a critically acclaimed show and most of the times have received a rating of seventy. Season one of Californication was rated as ”F” in United States of America. This rating shows the mixed opinion of critics about the show.

Many conservative groups are against nature of the show which resulted into backlash with the producers and TV broadcasters. One of the objections by the conservative groups was about the oral sex performed by Hank Moody in church. In Australia, Network Ten broadcasted Season two of the show and received a strong objection by Salt Shakers. Salt Shakers is a Christian Fundamentalist group. They started an email campaign against the show and requested Network Ten to stop broadcasting the clips of the show. Due to this campaign forty nine companies withdrew their sponsorship.

The show had its share of controversy with the musical band Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band filed lawsuit against the show and the channel on November 19th 2007. The controversy was over the name given to the series. Red Hot Chili Peppers claims that the name ”Californication” was the name of the album launched by the band in the year 1999 which was a hit. According to their lawsuit, the name of the show had caused confusion, deception and mistake for the sponsors and in the audience.

Despite all controversies lead actor of the show David Duchovny was nominated for several awards. David won lead actor award which shows the popularity of the show among the people.

The script of Mad Men is a fictional set-up in late 1960s, in which the story revolves around an advertising agency which is located on Madison Avenue in the city of New York. Don Draper played by Jon Hamm is the focal point of Mad Men series. He is creative director and one of the founders of the advertising firm. His friends are from both in and out of the office scenario. Mad men series tries to depict the varying moods and social ups and downs in United States of America during the 1960s.

Mad Men is famous all around the world and has won many awards in various categories. It has won fifteen Emmy awards and four golden globe awards. Mad men have also made its place in the pages of history. It is first ever cable series which has won Emmy Award in category of outstanding drama series. It has continuously won awards in outstanding drama series category from the year 2008 to 2011.

Don Draper is one of the lead characters of this series. He is working as creative director at Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. He is also one of the founders of this agency. Don Draper is a drunk and chain smoker who is a successful person in the field of advertising. In the first season he was married to Betty and has three kids with her but shocking revelation about his past leads to divorce in the end of third season. His real name is Richard Whitman and changed his name during Korean War.

Peggy Olson starts her career as Draper’s secretary and later becomes copywriter. She becomes pregnant and Pete Campbell is responsible for it. But Pete Campbell is unaware of it till the end of second season. In end of second season Olson reveals about her pregnancy and about gave up the baby for adoption. In third season Peggy is approached by Duck to leave her present company to join him but Peggy turns down the offer and continues to show her faith in Sterling Cooper. Don appreciates her abilities and pushes her to perform better and encourages her to come up with excellent advertising ideas.

Other than these two major characters there are a few more characters in the series. Pete Campbell is a young but ambitious account executive who is looking to make his place in advertising field.

Betty is Don’s wife up to third season. Before meeting Darper, she was a model and married him at a very young age. After knowing about past of Don, she divorce him and gives a new start to her life

The plot of this show was constructed around five people who consider themselves as underachievers. Two of them are twins namely Dennis Reynolds and Deandra Dee Reynolds. They have three friends Charlie Kelly, Ronald McDonald and Frank Reynolds. Frank Reynolds is not only their friend but he is father of the twins. As story unfolds, audience come to know that Frank Reynolds is not biological father of the twins. All of are greedy, selfish, lazy, dishonest, can’t be trusted, lack of maturity and very arrogant. In most of the episodes you can see them planning conspiracy against each other or just for entertainment. These conspiracies lead to downfall of them which produces entertainment for the audience. They are not united and can easily be broken by others. Despite their consistent failures they maintain reputation in the society. They are shameless and keep on putting effort to get what they are wishing for and generally engage themselves in activities which lead to their own humiliation and result in frustration.

It’s Always sunny in Philadelphia has a rating of TV-MA. The reason behind this rating is style of language used in the show, sexual content displayed, and racial epithets which is occasional, and reference of drug which is not good for teenagers.
The character of Dennis Reynolds is played by Glenn Howerton. Character of Dennis is a sociopathic more than other characters in the show. He is selfish and vain.

Deandra is brother of Dennis. Character of Deandra is played by Kaitlin. She is Dennis twin sister. She is bartender at her pub and leading actress of this show. The whole gang keeps making her realize that no one likes or respect her and they will not include her in their plans and schemes. Her dream is to become a successful actress.

Kelly’s childhood friend is Ronald McDonald aka Mac. The character of Mac is played by Rob McElhenny. He is also school friend of Dennis and later on they become roommate. He is also co-owner of their Pub. He show off about his combat skills but lacks any real skill or athletic balance in his body.

First season consisted of only seven episodes with the final episode of the season telecasted on September 13th 2005. After seeing the popularity of the show among the audience, FX networks renewed the show without giving another thought to the decision. FOX networks removed this show because of a complaint filed by one of its viewers about the objectionable content shown. Its broadcast was stopped till 2011. It has seven seasons so far, and FX has renewed it once again for two more seasons and eighth and ninth season will be broadcast in the year 2013.

Even before the launch it had created high anticipation among the audience. Its first show was a huge hit among the viewers and critics gave positive reviews about it. Producers of Game of Thrones decided to make its second season on April 19th 2011 just two days after its launch. Game of Thrones was nominated for several awards which include nomination in category of outstanding drama series for Emmy Awards and best television series nomination in golden globe awards. Peter Dinklage registered victory in both ceremonies in the category of best supporting actor. Other than these awards, Game of Thrones was nominated in Emmy for outstanding casting for drama series and won Emmy award in the category of outstanding main title design.

Game of Thrones is closely inspired by the storyline of R.R. Martin’s A song of Ice and Fire. Even R.R. Martin said a statement in which he stated that the plot of the show closely resembles with his fictional work. Game of Thrones is about seven kingdoms of Westeros and their involvement in struggle full of violence for dynasty. Noble families of kingdom are involved in these violent struggles to gain control over the Iron Throne. As the story progress, threats from northern region of Westeros come into the picture and due to this story become more interesting.

Famous actor Sean Bean was in lead of the first season of the show. He played character of Lord Eddard Ned Stark in this series. Lord Eddard Ned Stark is patriarch of Stark Family. His wife is Catelyn Stark nee Tully. Michelle Fairley had played character of Catelyn Stark nee Tully. They both have five children. Their children are Robb played by Richard Madden, Sansa played by Sophie Turner, Arya played by Maisie Williams, Bran played by Issac Hempstead Wright and character of Rickon is played by Art Parkinson. Character of Lord Eddard’s bastard is played by talented actor Kit Harington. Character of King Robert Baratheon is successfully played by Mark Addy. Mark Addy has a wife and her name is Queen Cersi Lannister. Character of Cersi Lannister is played by popular actress Lena Headey. Queen Cersi Lannister has two brothers and both are twin. Name of the first one is Sir Jaime Lannister played by Nikolai Coster Waldau and other one is Tyrion played by Peter Dinklage. Tyrion is very clever and good in conspiracy tactics.

Game of Thrones was first launched on HBO in USA and on Sky Networks in Britain and Ireland. Slowly and steadily, it gained popularity all over the world. The Second Season of Game of Thrones is going to be launched this year on April 1st.

Ted is an architect, while Marshall is a lawyer. Lily, Marshall and Ted have been best friends since their college days. Lily and Marshall are married. Ted accidentally met Robin in a pub and fell in love with her, but it was told in the very first episode itself that Robin is not the mom of Ted’s children, because she was referred to as Aunt Robin. Then there is Barney, who is often considered to be the best character in the show because of his catch phrases and wonderful comic timing.

Ted and Robin were romantically involved for some time, but then they broke up. Robin is an ambitious female and a TV news anchor by profession. She is against marriage and doesn’t like children, which was the prime reason of her break up with Ted. Robin later gets in a relationship with Barney, which again came as a shock, because Barney is a kind of a guy who no one can expect to be committed to a girl. But again, the relationship ended because things didn’t work out. Even after 2 unsuccessful relationships, Robin continues to be a part of the group and used to hang out with her two ex-boyfriends. Though later in the show, all the three characters showed romantic inclination and contemplated a relationship.

Ted dated many girls but all ended miserably. One of her girlfriends Stella Zinman who was a divorcee left him at the aisle, which later was used as a very frequent joke against Ted.

Even Barney fell in love with a girl named Nora, but they broke up. Robin too had many boyfriends, the latest in the list being Kevin, with whom she recently broke up because Kevin was upset over the fact that Robin doesn’t want children after marriage.

Marshall and Lily hang out with these three guys and often advise them on how they should proceed in their respective love lives. The five characters always hang out in a bar called MacLaren’s.

Three books, which are based on the show have been published so far. Barney’s Playbook, The Bro Code and Bro on the Go. All the books are based on the theories of Barney Stinson. Barney’s blog which is often referred to in the show has also become very popular.

Awards: The show has been nominated for various awards over the past years and has won many reputed awards. In the year 2008, producers of Dexter started to air this series on CBS. This show is highly acclaimed by various critics and enjoyed high popularity. The finale of season four in the year 2009 broke all the records of highest number of viewers. Season four finale was witnessed by approximately three million viewers all over the world. Michael C. Hall who has played the character of Dexter has received several awards and nominations for his acting skills for the portrayal of the character of Dexter. He has also received one Golden Globe award for this character. Last year in November, producers of Dexter announced about the renewal of the series for two more seasons. It is surely a treat for the viewers.

Characters of Astor and Cody are played by Christian and Perston.

Important appearances made in the first season were of Christian Camargo who had played character of ice truck killer. Mark Pellegrino had acted as Rita’s ex –husband whose name is Paul and is very abusive in nature. In season two, character of Lila Toumay was played by Jaime Murray. Lila is a very gorgeous British artist who gets attracted towards Dexter. She even tries to kill Dexter’s wife and children due to obsession with Dexter. Character of Ellen Wolf was played by Anne Ramsay. Ellen Wolf is defense attorney and arch rival of Miguel. Season three and four unfolds a romantic involvement of Debra with him. Courtney was pictured as a reporter who is ambitious and loves to mix business with pleasure. She gets involved in a romantic way to discover story which she was looking for.

Overall plot of this series is very interesting and due to this it successful all over the world. People are eagerly waiting for the telecast of the next season.

Shooting for The Walking Dead was taking place in and around the Atlanta area. Most, if not all, of the main roles are already cast, but there are usually casting calls for extras to play zombies. Playing a zombie extra takes a lot of make up and time, but can still be a satisfying experience. If you live in the Atlanta area and would like to take a shot at paying a zombie, the walking dead could be a great opportunity.

The Bachelor is another show that lets potential contestants submit your video applications and is by far the best way to get on the show. Guys can apply to be the bachelor on the show or they can also apply to be potential suitors on the companion show The Bachelorette. Girls can apply for opposite roles on the two different shows.

This is one show in particular that you need to be very attractive to be considered for the show. Rarely does one see anyone on the show that you would not consider classically beautiful. With that being said, when you submit your video, emphasis the reasons that you want to be on the show. Have a interesting back story and start there. Have you had to spend all of your time taking care of a sick family member and have been unable to go out and find love? Have you been searching in all the wrong places for a mate? Make it interesting and engaging. Don’t get on the video and say, “I’m hot and want to be on TV.” Have fun with it and make sure you let the people deciding know that you are outgoing, fun, and there for the right reasons.

To get on Survivor, one can either submit a video application or attend an open casting call, if they happen to live in an area that has one. Most people will submit a video audition. The keys to a successful is to make sure that you are a “character”. You should have some sort of story or characteristic about you that is interesting. If you have ever watched the show, or any other reality show for that matter, you will notice that the people on there are not quiet, respectful, and understanding of their fellow members. They usually have strong personalities and a reason for being there. Make sure to emphasize this on your audition video. Making a video that says you go to work everyday, pay your taxes, and go to bed earl will not get you on Survivor. Remember that your application should be unique and intriguing. You should never lie or make up stories to try and get on the show. You should always try to play up the interesting connection that you and your partner have. It may be anything but, you have a better chance of getting on if you are brothers that played football at rival colleges, Freegans, or something that has an interesting angle to it. Also, make sure that you are having fun on your application and show that you have a lot of energy.
